We have all seen the reports or have heard the warnings. Whether the danger is from the effects of environmental pollution, climate change, or from the depletion of Earth's natural resources, it has become abundantly clear that we MUST decrease our dependency on oil. This must be done quickly in order to curb the negative consequences that are already showing up.
As consumers, we have the power to dictate how the automobile industry will react. Our purchasing decisions are, by far, the most influential means we have to affect positive change. That makes it our responsibility to do so.
All it takes is a choice...
Zero Emission Pledge is a worldwide advocacy project dedicated to creating a consumer pledge to NOT purchase a new vehicle unless it is a zero (or near zero) emission vehicle. With the current trend showing only slight improvements in fuel efficiency, it is up to us to make a stand. We must give the automotive companies an ultimatum: produce zero emission vehicles.
Change will happen...
Collectively, our purchasing power will transform the industry-- even a modest decline in the number of new vehicles purchased will have an amplified effect on profit margins. This will force manufacturers to focus on zero emission production... or start looking for other work.
